Over the past thirteen years, nearly 10,000 racquets have been collected, and 7,500 of those have been distributed back in to the community. For safety reasons, Racquets for All operated at a slower pace this past year even though gently used racquets, balls and bags were still collected and distributed to individuals and organizations in need of the equipment.
As organized programs pick up heading into the summer of 2021, we look forward to helping more community programs and their players. We are creating equipment kits for 10 and under players to support youth tennis programs and are especially interested in reaching new community groups who would benefit from these kits or other equipment. Requesting help is easy! Program leaders in need of equipment help can complete the Equipment Request Form here.
In an effort to better reach people from throughout the state, the Racquets for All committee is also seeking new members and/or ambassadors to represent different geographic areas and facilitate collection and distribution within your community.
Or, if you have an interested in organizing an equipment collection campaign we would be happy to brainstorm ideas and provide signage and information to support you. We especially love engaging youth in this way and have seen young people do an amazing job collecting racquets as part of their give back to the tennis community.
